I am from the streets and tall buildings 

From the many landmarks in the big city

To the red and blue colors on the police cars and the smell of all the food in the area

I am from the playground me and my grandpa build at his house

Always walking into the house and smell pasta being cooked and all sorts of foods

Because she loves to cook

She always cooked the meals and there were always perfect

I am from driving on the weekends to out beach house in michigan

And always having to stop at every gas station for my dad to go to the bathroom 

From being at the beach all day and playing in the cold water to making arts and crafts 

In out craft room we had and plying with legos in the play room

I am from taking long walks into the town of new buffalo

And always having great talks along the way 

From staying at the beach all day to having to walk home all wet and sandy

From a long day at the beach

I am from eating big thanksgiving and christmas dinner

From the smell of the turkey and all of the delicious food

From smelling the ham and christmas cookies being made late at night 

And the big christmas morning breakfasts at my aunts house

I am from having a big christmas eve party with all my aunts and uncles and cousins

From doing secret santa and getting a good gifts to watching the parents play white elephant

From a big christmas picture on the stairs for the parents and the kids

From smelling all the different types of pastries on the table 

I am from all the spring break trips to aruba with my family and grandparents

From walking the beaches and streets and getting little things that people are selling 

From going tubing and playing in the sand and sitting by the pool and playing bingo with my grandparents

I am from staying at the same hotel every year because of my grandmas timeshare and going in the lazy river with my grandma
