Stripping her clothes

Donning his cape
Measure the waist

Flex the flappers.
Time, fuzzy.

Fear, unaware.
Dip your toe into the plastic,
careful of the numbers. Who bite.
Climb upon the railing,
quickly now, before the parents. Come look.

Step,
Leap.
Crashing to the ground.

Crashing to the ground.
So light,

to fly.
So much,

to fall.

A good friend of mine went through a battle with anorexia, and that inspired me to write this poem. It is for all those who ever wanted to give up, but didn't.
