Carousel
Silver mirrors—
Spinning wildly
With the laughter of children.
Yellow lights are warm like the sun:
I think of a flower's faithfulness.
Gold rings dangle above my head,
Too far for me to grasp.
The innocence eludes me,
The essence of metal fills me.
Green dragon drawn onto porcelain skin,
Fly away from me.
Black-haired,
Sapphire-eyed horse,
Gallop faster.
Take me to strawberry fields,
Reddened with excitement;
Carry me into a crimson sunset,
Regret tucked into pockets.
Carousel—never stop spinning.
