Walking in the pouring rain
Taking things one step at a time
Trying to diminish the pain
Pacing to the rhythm of the wind chime

There are unfixable holes in my heart
I collapse to the ground taking in deep heavy pants
Everything pulling and tugging me apart
My thoughts coming in what seemed like chants

I tried to be good
I tried to be content
It’s not my fault I’m misunderstood
I don’t know what caused this torment

I curl up in a ball
Trying to temporarily mend the hole
My adrenaline starts to fall
I close my eyes like a dead soul

My eyes flutter open
The room around me is familiar and nice
I’ve had this nightmare over and over again
It’s so real because the details are always so precise

I grab my coat and head outside
What will happen to me?
I sat down and cried
I make myself get up before letting my gut disagree

Walking in the pouring rain
Taking things one step at a time
Trying to diminish the pain
Pacing to the rhythm of the wind chime

Wow, this is really good. I can kind of relate, although I'm not sure I have the intended meaning. I like how you repeat the first and last stanzas. Thanks for the comment!
