The girl I used to know
I used to know this girl
Once, long before...
She used to be so strong and fierce,
Now she’s skin and bones
Can’t look at her reflection,
She doesn’t want to know...
Who’s this person she’s become,
Now that she’s sold her soul.
Tears have stained her pale face,
Her eyes no longer shine
In the darkness, there she fades
All day, in shame she hides
Longing to see the light again,
She fears she can’t this time...
For the walls she built around herself
Are impossible to climb
Her heart has turned as hard as stone
From the coldness of the nights
Can’t even learn to love herself,
She cries waiting to die
I used to know this girl
Once, long before...
But as I look inside the mirror
She’s not there anymore.
