Kintsugi
The bridge crumbles beneath my feet,
But it is not in me to accept defeat,
The cacophonous crack echoes throughout every street,
But these echoes seem like evanescent whispers to me,
For when souls stir in this diverse world,
These cracks are inevitable,
But in our relationships, are not irrevocable.
Harmony is the Komorebi,
That paints vibrant scenes of humanity.
Strife remains ephemeral,
But peace lasts forever,
For humanity will always travel towards golden endeavors.
The pieces of the crumbled bridge are mended,
And the fractures that once appeared horrendous,
With gold, are now gilded,
And the bridge repairs itself,
Just as humanity will always restore its innate harmonious unions,
Like broken pieces join together to create beauty,
In the art of Kintsugi.

Komorebi: A Japanese word for sunlight filtering through canopies of trees, creating an ethereal scenery.
Kintsugi: A traditional Japanese art that encapsulates the idea of beauty amongst imperfections, or rather, beauty that arises due to imperfections.
I wanted to incorporate the art of kintsugi to reflect on the importance of imperfections in creating harmony, while attempting to convey that fissures in our lives are not irrevocable. These fissures can manifest as broken relationships or failures. But these problems can certainly be mended, so never lose hope.
