Riddle Poem

My abode is a cave I cannot crawl out of;
But one day, I’ll dispose of it as a caterpillar eats its leaf.
I hop, hop, hop away from the heat.
I need dark like a flower needs light.
I grow alone and have the chance of forever being
Enclosed.
Maybe one day I will escape and fly to freedom,
When I can tolerate being exposed to the sun,
Which I suppose feels like the heat that chases me.
