Only Smiles to Stay Alive
You were my pride and joy
Even through grief
Your arms were my shelter
And to hold your hands was my relief
Your love was my tower
It supported me
You said I was strong even when I was weak
And I still can't comprehend
That they put us to an end
It's killing me cause it's fixed in me
to love you
And now smiles are the only thing
That's keeping us alive
Unlike those words you said to me
Before we ever lied
It's so much harder
For our relationship to thrive
And without your warm embrace
It's so hard to survive
Your laughter is vital
to my happiness
Oh how I wish we still had
that source of freeness
I don't think that I could cry anymore
I'm afraid if I did I'd just fall to the floor
And not be able to love anymore
How I wish things could be as the were before
It's so hard to live with these tears on and on
Until these years have drained from me
I'll never love I'll never love anyone, you see
I vow, until the day I die, that only you can rescue me
