Yes, people say I have the perfect life.
But has anyone seen the side that’s died?
The one inside, that’s withered where I’ve been locked up and cried.
Can anyone see who I am inside?
I’ve got to get out, it’s carried away.
You’ve parted sun and the seas
and you part the connection we have in our lives.
No, I know you hate me, I never was to be,
and if I were gone you’d choose to live happily.
The only thing I’m good for is to take out all the pain
and as I’m cryin’ inside you still keep bringin’ on the rain.
Bringin’ on the rain cuz I was never meant to be,
and yet your face seems to always praise me.
Like a child in her youth,
who gets the best of life and she’s dying inside
because he’s beating up the wife.
And it never goes away, it’s never gonna stop,
so she goes to her friends house, ya that dad is a cop.
And the thoughts twirl inside as she waits so patiently,
for the ride of her life, the one to set her free.
