The Man With the Shaded Glasses
I need a daily stroll
 To calm my aching soul
The chilling air helps soothe my mind as I walk throughout the park
And as I rest upon a bench, a man appears upon it with me
His eyes are shaded with mysterious shades
His head snug within a hat
 His coat remains completely buttoned
While scarf is wrapped up to his chin
I say hello to this old friend and tell him all within my heart
He listens closely and never speaks, but merely nods his head
And so I speak and reveal my mind
I clear it all until I sigh
Though he pays respect to my words
I know he has already heard them
I thank him for the time he spent
And foolishly I offer him my hand
He simply gazes away from my eyes
And sits upright upon the bench
But as I turn to part with him, the wind becomes a gust of warmth
It wraps around my frosty hand and my blood begins to flow
That man on the bench seems ubiquitous, though he is really one
He knows all of us throughout the world, but it’s up to you to speak
