The Pictures
I took an unintentional stroll up the hall,
A journey which took me far away from it all …
And so I went up and up for a moment’s rest,
 And gazed upon,
Preyed upon, the gleaming glass of bliss -
And I danced my way to them
 With airy steps and then,
I began to sing my song of joy
As I watched the unraveling story of life itself …
 It told itself –
 It sang itself,
 The joyous melody –
 It rang throughout my ears
And banged its chorus throughout my tears …
Oh, the waves of ineffable emotion,
 That sentimental ocean …
 I want to sail again,
And catch my soul within the wind …
I sang a harmony so great,
That tears began to dissipate …
And they were less than I could feel,
For feeling then was more appeal …
And so I gave the final notes,
Into the audience of glassy mirrors,
And stepped down onto hard wood floor
Oh joy oh love, go find this door!
