What is what I cannot see,
Who is right in front of me,
Saying words that do not mean,
Anything at all.

People and their hideous masks,
People and their hidden flasks,
Why cannot all people be,
Questioning society?

Do they delve in themselves?
Do they think things are as appears?
I cannot even reach myself,
For it appears I am shut off.

How do we do anything?
Can we make each other think?
Are we locked and never opened?
Are we books that are already written?

Are we free to do as pleased?
Even in a free society?
Are the bonds that people make?
Our prisons that sell our fate?

Can we speak or are we mute,
By our minds that don’t compute?
Can we get the new download,
Or are our systems just too old?

Can we break the hidden cuffs,
That makes us people stuffed?
Can we read between the lines,
And see what really lies inside?

It's a poem about how hard it is to be sure all the time. How aggrivating it is that no one really knows who everyone is. How people hide instead of being themselves, and how it is hard to truly know one's self sometimes.
