I'm running from a place that I thought I'd left behind
Digging up the ocean and breathing in coal mines
weather only thickens and my mind will only race
reminding me of selfish reasons why I left this place
I cant be your prom queen
Dressed in pretty cellophane
Collapsed lungs in the parking lot
Those memories we all forgot
And bring back to place blame
Shouldn’t we all share the shame?
Or is it too much pain?
Choke me with orange cellophane so it’s never too mundane
I’ll never let you kill me with those words you never spoke
We’re driving in a circle now along the streets we broke
The wind may only whistle but the concrete never lies
The years that passed don’t do much for a plain disguise
And when we shed our cellophane and jerseys doused in old propane
They will find us all the same
Just a girl and boy to blame
Hiding in orange cellophane
Collapsed lungs for the rest of our lives
Memories peeking through the archives
Locked away in a prison cell
The one they call personal hell.

First of all, thank you very much! Also it's funny that you say that because I write most of my stuff as song lyrics. Unfortunately, I have no musical talent. Thanks so much for the feedback!!!

For some reason (maybe because I spent the better half of my middle teenager years listening exclusively to metalcore concept ablums) when i read this i thought it will made some great lyrics to a song. If you can sing or play music I think you ought to try it - it's a pretty far fetched idea but that is just what popped into my head as i was reading it. It was a great peom, and I can tell what you mean and it must have been a lot to get out of you. Congratulations.
