Cinderella MAG
I stare,
looking intently at the jeweled queen.
She wears a teal gown,
a beautiful ruby smile
and sparkling pearl earrings.
She is taller than I am,
standing proudly.
It's her trip to the Prom,
her night of fantasy.
The dress is borrowed
And the smile pained from the two-inch heels
Worn only to satisfy the height requirement
(her date is a foot taller).
As I look at the young woman,
I smile.
The mirror smiles back.
I leave the comforts of my bedroom.
After all,
a little fantasy never hurt anyone.
It's Cinderella's
Chance at the ball.
