Early in the morning one sunny day
In the heart of a small town
Came the comfort of a brown horse’s quiet neigh

Who lay stretched on a large tuft of hay
Peacefully resting on the mound
Early in the morning one sunny day

Nobody gave her but a simple gaze
And as she made a hoarse whispering sound
Came the comfort of a brown horse’s quiet neigh

Her whiskers shining in the heat of May
O’er the land humans seldom found
Came the comfort of a brown horse’s quiet neigh

Her calm expression showed no dismay
Her chocolate-colored beauty became renown
Early in the morning one summer day

Words cannot possibly begin to say
How the meaning of her presence is profound
Early in the morning one sunny day
Came the comfort of a brown horse’s quiet neigh
