Winter Night MAG
Trees and bushes are heavy with snow,
making a blanket in the night.
A lone car raids the quiet.
Cats on their nightly prowl,
give every living thing an intimidating stare.
Far away, a cold hungry dog barks to be let in.
Small, perfect snowflakes pile up,
as they fall silently out of the sky.
The air reeks of frozen winter solitude,
and invisible billowing smoke.
Over all, an overwhelming sense of quiet simplicity
and this night's ability to shut out the demanding world.
