Waiting MAG
I waited on the front porch for him,
I knew he would come.
They always do.
I wasn't surprised when I saw the blank,
almost apologetic expression on his face.
It's a face I've seen before, many times.
As he made his way up the steps,
he started to say something.
I nodded.
"I know, it's okay, you don't have to explain."
"I'm sorry" he said, and then he kissed me on the cheek
and walked away.
He left me waiting on the front porch ...
... waiting for the next one to come along, to steal my
heart, and say they're sorry and walk away.
