The Spirit in the Valley Moor

The spirit is in the valley moor
The one beyond the dark horizon
A horizon outside your door

It’s waiting for me to hear the calling

The howling in the valley moor
The whispered voice of soldiers falling.

Your reflection is on the floor

A floor glittering with broken glass
Glass from the distant valley moor

The spirit is in the valley moor
Where the bright daylight is shattering
Shattering just outside your door

Tonight daylight will leave the world

The spirit won’t be in the valley moor
Where the dismal shadows once whirled

I will be in that valley moor
And maybe you’ll put faith in me
Standing outside your darkened door

Don’t turn away to the glittering floor
Breathe deep, then walk the dark horizon
That horizon and our valley moor.
