Distant MAG
I watch you in the hallways at school
Standing with your girlfriend, your many admirers
Your pearl-white teeth shining.
Trying not to care as your blue eyes pass in my direction
Out of the corner of my eye I watch you
running your fingers through your bleached-blonde hair
Hoping to know you is like a dream
We're in two different worlds which will never be one.
But that's
okay
because I like remaining
distant.
Sometimes dreams are better than reality.
