The Cook MAG
Once upon a midday dreay
While I'm cooking weak and weary
Suddenly there came a ringing
As if someone gently singing,
Singing at my kitchen sink.
As clearly as I see the moon
It was in the month of June
And every single piece of carrot
Came the noise of a parrot
A parrot, at my kitchen sink.
Louder, louder grew the song
And I knew it was wrong
For I had a meal to cook
But what I would give for just one look
A look, at my kitchen sink.
Suddenly there came a knocking
As a grandma gently rocking
To the backdoor I strolled
Letting in the horrible cold
The cold, at my kitchen door.
Then came screaming and a holler
But for me I did not bother
But to me there came a shake
And to the noise came a break
It was my mother, waking me for school!
