Favorite Quote:
"If I could be any part of you,
I'd be your tears;
To be conceived in your heart,
Born in your eyes,
Live on your cheeks,
And die on your lips."

The raindrops from your eyes
Leave bruises on my skin.
They are feelings you tried to hide
That are overflowing from within.
The simple knowledge that you cry
And it's all because of my words
Is a power that makes me high,
That's keeping your screams unheard.
The taste of your liquid poison
Is somehow sweet on my tongue.
A wine that drowns out reason
Once the drinking has begun.
These droplets of your soul
Fall crystal, clear and steady -
A glimpse into your heart that I stole -
A sight that makes me heady.
It's a trial to lift a hand to your tears,
But I cannot simply walk on by,
Even though it's music to my ears,
I have to stop the ocean that you cry.

The author's comments:
I'm pretty sure I started to write this just to play with words, but the more I wrote it, the more I felt I was writing from the point of view of a guy who loves to make his lover cry. He finds the sight of her tears somewhat exhilarating and intoxicating. Like a drug he's addicted to. And, although he loves to make her cry, he also can't help but make those tears disappear. . I thought it was somewhat sadistically romantic - and that's where I found the title.
