Bloodied Heart
Torn and cut; ripped and shattered,
I have so many wounds that I am tattered.
In a cage they are concealed,
Covered by flesh they will never be revealed.
My wounds you cannot see
For they are like the wounds on the inside of a tree,
They are there and they bleed,
Your words are the seed,
The seed that poisons me and hurts me,
But you cannot and will not ever see the scratches,
For inside of me they are protected by latches,
And secured by chains, yet it is still falling apart.
That which I speak of is my bloodied heart.
