A Tangible Memory
A Tangible Memory

Stillness in the midst of a spinning world.
 Constant, Stable, Permanent,
At least until the color fades
 And the memory dies.

 An event in motion, happening,
 Then interrupted with a flash.
Time and a smile poised together,
Caught and held behind a wall of glass.

Smiling, posing, trying over and over again
 Because someone’s eyes were closed.
What took and hour to set up
Is over and done in the blink of an eye.
 A tangible memory

 Photographs of life,
 But this isn’t life.
It’s easy to capture a magic moment,
But where is the camera when life is sad?
