Lillian's Garden

Amidst the highways,
And the factories tall,
Is Lillian's Garden,
Quite fragrant and small,

It's filled with roses, And purple hyacinths,
It's filled with old tall trees,
That make labyrinths,

The old boughs they have,
That chickadees live on,
Also provide cool shade,
Even during the dawn,

Amidst the highways,
And the skyscrapers tall,
Is Lillian's Garden,
Quite fragrant and small,

Breaking the silence,
An engine starts rumbling,
The bluebirds and squirrels flee,
The chipmunks tumbling,

And to the horror,
Of living things alike,
Bulldozers kill all,
Leave nothing in sight,

Amidst the highways,
And the factories tall,
Was Lillian's Garden,
That now is a mall
