Shallower comes my breathing;
legs pumping harder now;
wind rushing in my ears,
drowning out all sound.
Fire roaring through my chest,
fluttering in my heart;
constant thrill's the only thing
keeping me from falling apart.

Sometimes running away feels better than sticking around to see what happened to the world I thought I knew.
