To an outsider, it's just a box
Filled with little bits of junk
But to me it's got...
All the pictures, all the places
All the people all the faces
Each memory brings back
As it plays like a movie in my head
I can go there anytime
Just lift the lid and hit rewind
And suddenly I'm back in that day
Reliving just as I did the first time
It's all there
I've got the cards and the gifts
I've got the books and the journals
Like a map into my past
They take me there
Back to the happy times
Back to when I was on top of life
Back to the friends and family
Each person who took part
It's all there
I see it like a photo book in my mind
And as I flip through the pages
I'm reminded of each person I've known
And every adventure that we had
It's all hidden and stashed away
For me to pull out any day
It's all there
In my box full of memories

The author's comments:
Inspired by the box I keep at home full of little trinkets from the past, this piece is written in honor of each memory I've made and each person who helped to create that memory.
