The War
The war was so long ago
the pain it still remains
In the fight, it went by so slow
the images seem so plain
I will never forget
The ones I lost
their in my mind, so set
the explosions, the bodies tossed.
It helps to see
their memory
recalled in a plaque
even though my brothers never made it back.
I hope to die admirably
and I will see a sign
so I might see my fallen brothers
one great and final time.
