My Life Garden
Every night when I fall asleep
I think and dream of my life garden
The way my vines of thought tangle and straighten themselves,
As my roots of wisdom lengthen every day
As my bad friends wither and die
My loyal ones grow strong beside me
When my stem weakens, my friends hold me up
As I do the same for them.
When I feel like I must crumble into the soil
I call upon the rain
To drain away my thoughts and feelings
For one cannot do everything alone.
Though I once was a seed,
I have grown buds and flowers and still am today
My destiny is to be a strong oak tree
And so that is what I will be.
