Monday morning
The feel of death lingers over my window
The wind screeches through the trees
A grey blanket is smothering nature
The water pours from the wilted pillows above
My bed feels like a satin coffin.
Wrapped up like a mummy in my sheets
I feel hollow and weightless
A sleeping beauty that is not waiting to be woken
Perfectly content lying motionless
I could be dead forever in this state…
The kiss of death awakens me
The Monday morning radio crew screams out of the box…
Time for school
