The father and mother locked the door,
Said, “You’re not leaving ‘til you dance,
You’ve been afraid to show us,
Now, this is your last chance”

“Tomorrow we’re not watching,
You’re talent thrown away,
We aren’t paying for lessons,
Until you show us, today”

The small ballerina looked frightened,
A blush crept up her cheeks,
She was afraid to show them,
Her beautiful techniques.

Her parents looked regretful,
But shyness was a curse,
Never to overcome it,
That would be much worse.

The lovely tiny dancer,
Began her dance carefully
What if she made a mistake?
Did something wrong accidentally.

But then a tear ran down,
Her mother’s gentle face,
And then her father whispered,
“You dance with so much grace”
