WOMAN
Like a rose petal
She is poised-
the maiden.
Treading in her mind
through her garden of things she holds most dear.
Like a gazelle
She is happy-
the woman.
Dancing with her husband
the people around her laughing in joy.
Like a stone
She sits-
her face closed in sadness.
Her husband has died.
Like a lark
She laughs
with her children in the orchard
on a sunny spring day.
Like a breeze
she fades--
but smiling as she does so.
For she is going to join her husband in the stars
and they will feast and watch their children.
