Don't let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.

Strong in mind, body, and spirit
I thrive in the world of confusion
Flying with wings spread wide
High into the sky
Across bridges I glide

Brother wind hugging me
Tugging at me playfully
I laugh
I giggle with delight
During my wondrous flight

I am happy
Finally
I see the sun after the storm
And the rain is gone

Peace in my heart
Calm in my mind
Powerful and strong in my body

Hope overcomes me
And I am filled
with every emotion
Spilling out onto paper

I cry out
Relieved not of my problems
But of their solutions

I float along a streaming river
Cleansing myself
Before I take flight
Once Again

The author's comments:
Recently I have began a new chapter in life and in that I have felt a sensation of hope and excitement for what was to come. I have surpassed many struggles within myself and others as well. In my succeeding through those struggles, I was inspired to write this poem and am very proud of how it turned out. I truly am at the point where all I have left is to fly free finally.
