10 Minutes
The students are no longer focused,
one by one attention is broken,
including my own.
Blankly staring to the front of the room.
Fake attention given to her.
A docked boat wading on the shore,
Legs begin to buoyantly bounce,
Up and down
Back and forth.
The students soft chatter grows louder and louder,
it grabs the teachers attention a loud sneeze in a quiet chapel.
A funeral that's how I describe the last 10 minutes of class.
Students sink
low
down into
the depths of their desks.
I watch her eyes scan across the room,
a praying Hawk watching over her terrain,
ready to pounce on myself or any other unsuspecting students.
They wait patiently for her sharp talons to finally snatch them up.
