With the damp spill of everything you tried to hide,
The page is wrinkled from your mistakes.
And the sticky wet of regret hunts you down,
Makes you feel it,
Makes you remember it.
Yet you need the regret, the mistakes, the flaws;
Once it’s written down, the feelings escape you.
The ball and chain holding it hostage unlocks.
The liberating feeling of an escaped regret
Peeks out from the corners of the paper.
And the haunting feeling of knowing it’s down on the shattered page,
Holds an arrow to your metaphors.
