A gentle rain,
Cold, soft and plain,
Falls from a sky that's painted in shades of grey.
A sweet, sad song
Murmurs softly at times and at times is so strong
To the beat of a gentle rain.
Outside a window,
Beneath the clouds, mountains faintly show,
Covered by shades of grey.
A gentle rain,
A sorrow long restrained,
Released when self control can no longer stay,
And crimson fades to shades of gray.
