Unrequited Love
She lay her head down on the smooth stone rock
Drenched in a river of blood all her own
Pain enduring heart, squeezed to a pulp
Out in the cold, black dimness to die alone
Waves of emotions, reverberating within
A darkness masked by a smile, bright lipstick, pink blush
Frosted fingers, frozen eyelids shutting out the crimson
Poured over a wintry snow slush
In agony she cries, longing for his touch
Instead she feels the pain as metal slices skin
Gushing, it goes on and on, oh the torture
All resulting from a what could have been
