Scrutinizing Sun
The blistering heat,
Drains the moisture.
My flesh moaning,
Red and sticky with heat.
Why must the sun,
Mock me so?
Not even in shade,
Can I escape the cackle.
The piercing eyes of the sun,
Burn holes in me at night.
We there finally be,
A break in the torridity?
The clean lenses of,
My glasses become obscured.
A faint rumble emerges above,
As tiny droplets begin to fall.
Oh what relief has come,
So long over due.
Only moments later,
The sky opens wide.
My skin breathes in,
The cool refreshment.
The sun can no longer,
Mock me so.
It can no longer,
Haunt my soul.
