Memories
An old woman
sitting at home,
with no one around
she feels so alone.
The memories flood in
of days in the past.
Kids running and screaming,
oh, how they grew up so fast.
She and her husband read this book
a million times before.
But now that he has gone,
she can’t read it anymore.
She just flips through the pages
and rocks in her little, old chair,
dreaming about the days
when she could live without a care.
