Differences
Just because there is a gap
between your time and mine,
doesn’t mean we can’t get along.
Everything can still be fine.
You want us to be like you
and listen to your classic rock.
You want us to wear different clothes,
and be home by ten o’clock.
But there is stuff we can agree on,
like family’s number one.
And even though we fight a bunch,
together we can have a lot of fun.
Maybe we can compromise,
and see each other’s ways.
But that won’t come for awhile,
and there will still be many challenging days.
