Kristallnacht
the breath
i cannot hear a sound
a silence shakes the ground
the heart
trembles, our only sign
too much for me to bear
but how can no one care
the wave
broke
and carried away hope
too much for me to see
too much for me to be
the dark
stifles breath
those put to the test
and the pounding in their heads
i cannot say a word
this must not go unheard
the flames
a liquid scream
comsume the paralyzed night
and laugh
at those who cannot fight
this cannot be outrun
this cannot be undone
the hate
breeds fear
first time i hear
shattered glass
like broken dreams
lie scattered upon the ground
