As I look out the window
As I look out the window,
He sits down.
Do I smile?
Should I make more room?
Should I greet him?
I fidget in my seat,
And get closer to the window.
He notices.
I hesitate, but I smile back.
Nothing is spoken.
I consciously grin.
I may not have spoken,
Or greeted him.
But I smiled,
Which is a step for me.
The bus stops.
He gets off.
