It Might Have Been Worse

My alarm clock went off and I fell out of bed.
It could have been worse.
I went to work without any breakfast. My car
was out of gas.
It could have been worse.
I took the bus and someone took my wallet.
It could have been worse.
It was late to work and got fired. What a morning
it was.
I went home to find my house on fire.
It could have been worse.
I went inside after the fire was out.
only to find everything destroyed.
It could have been worse.
I saw my dog he was dead I began to cry.
It couldn’t have been worse.
