CA Poem
It’s a quarter till eight on a Monday morning
My mom is yelling at me to get up
I roll over and cover me ears with pillows
Not soon after is she in my room
Telling me ill be late for school
Eventually I wake and take a quick shower
In a hurry getting ready
She already has my breakfast made
Tells me to eat it on the go
She even helps me through the front door
I never really thought about that small morning ritual
Without it I would surely be late, or later than usual
I don’t know what I’ll do next year
When she’s not there to wake me for class
Some day soon I’ll be on my own without my wake call
I’m sure I’ll learn to wake myself someday
Whether it be this year or next
But it sure is nice to have a person alarm clock
Not to mention have a breakfast on the go
I never thought how important it was
