Paradoxical Life
I stand alone,
I stand together.
I stand quiet,
I stand with my voice.
I feel awed,
I feel inspired…
I awe,
I inspire.
I am nothing,
I am multiplied into everything.
I am everything, and
I’m divided again into nothing
I stand strong for my beliefs, and
I stand weak in my defense.
I weep for my sorrows,
I stand strong for my friends.
I have confidence,
I lack all self-esteem
I laugh in the face of adversity, and
I falter under pressure.
I see the sunlight,
I see the frozen air.
I feel your presence,
I feel your exodus.
I stand tired of this,
I stand rested for it.
I hear the screaming crowd,
I hear the crushing silence.
I see the beginning,
I see the end is near.
I see Life’s brilliance,
I feel Death’s ignorance.
I feel love in my heart,
I see hate with my eyes.
I am everything, and
I am nothing.
