She's Somebody's Daughter
Bath time:
Curiling
Feeling
Speeding
Lubbed bones bending
And whispering, intersecting
High-heels
Smile-heels
Cartwheel joy peals
Pills spilling parallel
Open
Dividing crescent
Eyelids vibrating
Smile rating magazines
Clipping wet gyrating
Smiling silly on the floor.
Tiles in time
Smoothing sexy
Pink tutu smeared
sporadic
In attic water
Static water
Sulking-
Milking, a
Daughter always
Storm water messy
There in her pink dress pretty
Lipstick hitting hard paper
Resisting,
Missing the mark,
The stark mark when everybody told her
She wore too much make-up.
Breaking up visions of perfect sashes
Bashing the ashes of her father,
She’s somebody’s daughter,
Storm water messy
And clawing
She was somebody’s daughter.
