Cloud 8
I sit and watch my friends shoot by
They're soaring, sailing on Cloud 9
I swing my legs here while I wait
I take the world in from Cloud 8
I'm not depressed to be so close
It's nicer here than you'd suppose
It's true I'm not in soaring bliss
But I've come far to come to this
Alone I sit, no room for more
It's a one-seater, that's for sure
But I've a pencil, I've a pad
In truth, Cloud 8 is not half bad
I make the most of my solitary view
I sketch and paint the rest of you
The gloomy ones on 6 and 5
The estatic ones up on Cloud 9
I'll make it up there by and by
I'm pleased with my seat in the sky
Cloud 8 is lovely, peaceful too
It's just too bad there's no room for two
