My Vision Of America: The High Five
A silvery snake sizzles in the heat
While tinted ants ride on its back of concrete
They feel strong and proud and chant aloud: “Hurrah!”
This is America.
A clogged artery early in the morning
Clears, and through the system freely flowing
The cells divide and separate at their chosen exit
This is America, welcome to it.
An endless tube ingests the masses
Clogs, slows until the constipation passes
Regains its rush, it cannot quit
This is America, hope you like it.
