Bonfire
First, i watch the ink melt into little streams before it rolls off of the page
Seeing all the cute things you'd say that made me feel so light back then now make my insides ignite with rage
Smiling as the old flowers that I once had kept sealed in heavy books shrink into a wrinkly ball of petals
I toss in that stupid key chain you brought back from Alaska for me before it's melted metal
I saved that perfect picture of us by the lake for last
My grin widens as i now see that to me you're just a blackened pile of ash.
