So Strange a Ruin
Dream a ruin so strange it ought never to have happened.
a spectacle so unnatural the viewer is left with nothing
‘lest a gaze, vast, unknown, lowly,
leaving the mind to direst feats of vast terror,
enchantments of peril, a Cyprus,
leaving nothing but a name.
Pride now gone, all is lost but the ancients.
No matter, those voices beyond so close
They even bewilder memories,
Grosses of age and thought that grip the tongue,
Force blame on the unspoken.
Wisdom without power.
A world of disguise.
