Laughter is No Laughing Matter

There they sit,
With their hats and gloves,
And their scarves wrapped around their bright red cheeks,
Laughing with the wind.
I sit next to them,
Equally bundled,
But feeling only warmth,
And smiling as brightly as the sun.
Our arms around each other,
Our hair flying in the wind,
Our giggles, a constant music,
To us, laughter is no laughing matter.
